Prior to attending an assessment course candidates must have successfully completed an MLTE endorsed training course and completed at least 40 quality hill walking days in differing conditions and 3 distinct areas of the UK.

Candidates must also have group management experience and hold a current First Aid certificate.
Candidates can not complete this assessment course without the relevant MLTE Logbook.
